Queen's Garden Critical Review

The audio version of Queen's Garden is a major accomplishment on many levels. For starters, the narrator does an incredible job voicing the roles of every single character in the play. It is done with such enthusiasm and emotional depth that, at many times throughout the recording, one forgets that every role is being voiced by one person. Accents and diction of certain characters stand out from others. There is also the music component of the piece, which adds another layer of emotional depth to the piece. Like music in films, certain characters in the play have certain themes for certain situation. For instance, there is a beautiful little melody that plays whenever, Brenda sees Kali for the first time in awhile. There is also that sound effects, such as the water hitting the beach. Each component adds to the overall viewing experience of the play.
